Being deeply spiritual, I place great value in the messages put forth by people such as Oprah Winfrey, Gary Zukav, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and Rhonda Byrne, amongst others. I greatly admire those who teach us how to live more peacefully in our lives. We need to reminded of what’s really important and that we are more than just our physical beings or ANYTHING material that we own.
Qualities such as the desire to pay it forward, patience, kindness, compassion, understanding, acceptance, gratitude, honesty, warmth are paramount to promoting peace in the world today. We should refrain from believing that we, only one person, are too insignificant to make a change in the world because if everyone thinks that, the world most certainly won’t change. If everyone believes that they can make a difference, the potential “movement” in the right direction becomes empowered. We CAN articulate the changes we want, even if it’s only through our actions.
It’s all about the choices we make in our daily lives. We always have a choice to do the right thing or the wrong thing and there are times when we base our choices on the actions of other people. That we choose whether or not to show kindness shouldn’t depend on the kindness (or lack thereof) of other people. We should be kind, regardless; if it’s not reciprocated, at least we can hold our heads high, knowing WE did the right thing.
Gratitude makes people feel appreciated. When people feel appreciated, they want to do MORE, not less.
